YAD Major Events
Each year, the temple hosts major events in which YAD participates and provides support, along with additional events organized by YAD ourselves.
Chinese New Year Fair (Wishing Booth)

During the Chinese New Year event at the temple, YAD will be in charge of the Wishing Tree booth, where visitors can get a Wishing Ribbon and tie it on the Wishing Tree, as well as ringing the Peace Bell.
Celestial Dharma Offering

On Day 2 of the annual Celestial Dharma Offering Ceremony, YAD members will serve as attendants during the offering, assisting with the passing of offering bowls.
Three Acts of Goodness Kids Class

With 2 semesters per year, YAD holds Kids Class on Sundays, teachings kids about Humanistic Buddhism centered around 3 Acts of Goodness and 4 Givings. This is the main, regular activity of Vancouver YAD!
Vegetarian Promotion Month

Every Spring, the temple has a Vegetarian Promotion Month with 2 days where every subchapter come together and sell their food, including YAD!
Bake Sale

Once per year, YAD will hold the Bake Sale in order to raise funds for the upcoming international conferences, offering baked goods and drinks.
Buddha's Light Charity Fair

Every May, the temple holds the Charity Fair along with the Buddha's Birthday Celebration, where people can bathe the Buddha and buy food, drinks and goods at the booths organized by different subchapters.
Kids Class Summer Camp (& Staff Training)

The biggest event organized by YAD every year! YAD members will participate in a 2-day staff training, followed by the 3-day Kids Class Summer Camp as staffs and teachers.
NA White Elephant Executive Training

The NA White Elephant Executive Training, also known as the NA Conference, is held yearly at one of the temples within LA, where YADs aiming to become a White Elephant Executive can acquire skills and experiences needed to tackle their test in the future.
International Conference

In the yearly International Conference, YAD members from all around the world can join and have an opportunity to enhance leadership skills, learn and exchange experiences with each other, and most importantly make friends!
Pumen English Exchange Program

Every year, an exchange program will be held where YADs in North America can volunteer to be teachers and go to Taiwan for 2 weeks, teaching English at Pumen Highschool.
Zan Pu

Every July in the Lunar Calendar, temples will hold the Emperor Liang Repentance Service ceremony. And YADs will be responsible for setting up the "Zan Pu Table", made with food, drinks, and cooking ingredients donated by devotees.
Monthly Book Club

Every month, a book club will be held on the last Monday, where a YAD member will share a Dharma story and lead a discussion with others.
